PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Richmond, VA – Virginia Commonwealth University is a major urban public research university located in downtown Richmond, Virginia. On the edge of the campus, along one of Richmond’s busiest intersections, is the Institute for Contemporary Art. It is hoped that this museum, with its inviting appearance, will serve as a gateway to the university. The LEED Gold-Certified museum was designed to incorporate technologies that ensure a positive impact. Skylights are featured in all the galleries, the forum, and the third-floor administrative suite; they are used to infuse the building with natural light and decrease reliance on nonrenewable energy.
