PERFORMANCE TESTING

ACURLITE PERFORMANCE TESTING

Our product is rigorously tested for air, water, and structural performance by independent third party laboratories. We also test for Florida and Miami Dade large and small missile impact requirements.

Acurlite continues to strive to be the best in the industry, pushing our product and team to exceed the demands of the modern construction environment.

As our industry and building technology advances, Acurlite will be there leading the way and pushing the building envelope in thermal, structural, and overall product performance.

Acurlite systems are fully tested to NFRC 100, 200 & 500 guidelines for more than 20 different overhead glazing makeups. This means we can provide customers with an evolving variety of fully-customized glazing solutions.

Air, WATER AND STRUCTURAL Testing

OUR SKYLIGHTS PERFORM IN ANY CLIMATE

From New England to South Florida, and accross the midwest too, Acurlite Skylights have been proven in the field.

Our Skylights can be easily engineered to fit any requirement, and can accommodate many unique geometries.

Enclosing a space in one of our structural skylights is a popular way to expand existing interior spaces while letting more natural light in.

STATIC AND DYNAMIC TESTING

HURRICANE READY DESIGNS

We have made great strides in developing and testing our skylight system to offer protection from a storm’s damage. Advances in both laminated glazing and system design have brought new products that can withstand the wrath of some of the most powerful storms.

Acurlite offers numerous geometries of hurricane/impact rated and blast resistant skylights for commercial and residential structures, as well as military and government buildings.

MOISTURE CONTROL
IS BUILT-IN

Our unique multi-stage, internally-guttered system eliminates unsightly external gutters and allows for complete moisture control within the system.

We separated the function and glazing bands, allowing for better moisture control and increasing the longevity of the infill glazing, which is never in a wet environment.

SMALL & Large MISSILE IMPACT TESTING

DayLighting without compromise

From the Gulf Coast to New England, coastal building codes are becoming more demanding in regards to impact and pressure resistance for all fenestration products. Impact resistant skylights significantly reduce the threat of structural damage, injury, and death.

THERMAL PERFORMANCE

NET-ZERO ENERGY COMPLIANCE

The MassDot Administration Building was designed and built to be a Net-Zero Energy Building, Acurlite is proud to provide the high quality energy e1fficient, thermally improved skylights on this project.

Net-Zero is the new energy efficient, thermally enhanced building of the future and Acurlite has completed several Net-Zero Buildings (as seen below).

Our thermal testing procedures incorporate both high-performance triple glazing, as well as standard insulated glass. This allows our skylight system to meet any project’s individual specifications.
