Walkable Skylights

Serving double duty as a skylight and a walkable surface, walkable skylights were used throughout this project. Keeping security their top priority, due to the nature of work, a new private, non-profit organization located just outside of Washington, DC was able to find ways to accomplish this without making it look like a fortress. The overall design prioritized access to sunlight and outdoor views which are proven to support the physical and psychological health of office workers. Green roofs with walkable skylights allow staff and visitor to connect with the outside. Plenty of natural light is able to shine through the spaces below.

Acurlite Structural Skylights, Inc. , in partnership with @pioneerglazing, was proud to be a part of this successful project!
